There is something special about food served from a handmade piece of pottery. I'm not sure if its the tie to history, tie to an American crafter or knowing that no one else has that exact piece of pottery, it just seems better. We proudly carry the work of 18 American potters--each with a unique style, but all functional and food safe--most is even microwave and dishwasher safe too! If you are looking for pottery, please pay us a visit!
Mission Minded Gifts
We are proud help make a difference in our community. We now carry Milkhouse Candles, a paraffin-free soy candle, made in the USA from American grown soy. For each Milkhouse Candle sold here, we donate $1 to the Education Foundation of Oconee County's Backpack Program which helps students in the count overcome weekend food crisis. The program targets children who would otherwise go hungry over the weekend and provides them with a backpack of child-friendly food. This way, the children arrive at school Monday morning ready to learn, rather than hungry and only thinking about a meal. We believe in the good this program does and we believe it helps break the cycle of poverty by allowing the children to focus on learning. The Education Foundation of Oconee County is a 501c3 and 100% of the funds earmarked for the BackPack Program go to the cause. Read here for more information about the EFOC BackPack Program!
Fun & Unique Totes and Purses
Let me assure you, any tote or purses purchased here will garner attention and complements! We are thrilled to carry Hardwear by Renee totes, pictured to the left. Renee is an indie designer with an eye for simple lines that have a big impact! Tough, durable, and MADE IN THE USA!! As Renee says "Strong, Sexy, Smart". Literally, I have owned mine over 10 years and, other than a little lint in the pocket, it still looks fabulous. Even men comment on it, true story. Made from marine vinyl, they are a vegan item and have snaps across the top and a handy little interior pocket. Dump the frump and carry Hardwear by Renee!
Fair Trade Gifts
We believe in Fair Trade. This means the crafter is paid a fair wage and works in fair conditions. I love it because it is empowering people and allows the crafter to maintain their traditional arts, which are often passed down over generations. The baskets pictured to the left are handcrafted in small villages of Peru. The woman who weave the baskets learned the art from their mothers. The skill is handed down over generations and now allows the women to earn money and lift themselves out of poverty. Empowering women. I love it.

Fun & Unique gifts
People often ask how we find our fun and unique items. There's no easy answer. I find the items every way possible. Many times I work with artists who craft new items for us, including the nightlights pictured to the left. We work hard to find unusual fun items that you're not going to see in some tired old big box store. We also strive to find items with a story and a special meaning behind them. New arrivals come throughout the year....we're almost always unpacking something great & fun! Come see us!
